In a sensational disclosure, TRS chief KCR said today that the Centre is exploring the possibility of forming the Telangana state making the Kurnool and Ananthapuram districts part of the new state to be carved out.
Addressing media persons in Hyderabad, he said the Centre is ready to grant statehood to Telangana region. “It is exploring this possibility as an alternative to make Hyderabad part of Telangana,” he said, adding the proposal is not acceptable to the Telangana people.
The statement of KCR gains significance as it comes a day after the MIM MP Mr Osaduddin Owaisi met him over Telangana and discussed the issue at length. There are reports that Mr Owaisi is making efforts to find solution to the T issue at the instance of the Centre.
“Hyderabad must be part of Telangana,” he said making it clear that a Telangana without Hyderabad would lead to another agitation in due course of time.
He said he was confident of the Centre discussing the issue with him before making any announcement on the formation of Telangana state.
