Revenue Minister Raghuveera Reddy had a bitter experience today during his official trip to Bukkapatnam in Ananthapuram district when the TDP activists hurled eggs and chappals on his convoy alleging that injustice has been done in distribution of crop insurance amounts to farmers.

The minister came to Bukkapatnam to participate in the women farmers’ meeting. The attack took place when the minister was leaving the town after the official programme. Raising slogans against the minister and government, TDP activists and allied farmers had thrown eggs and chappals on his convoy.

Piqued at the attack, the minister stopped his convoy and came out of his car protested against the TDP sponsored attack. Alleging that the TDP leadership is encouraging such attacks on ministers out of envy in the wake of the government sponsored programmes gaining popularity, Raghuveera sat on a dharna for a while.

However, the TDP activists continued their sloganeering against the minister and the government but police came in large numbers and chased them away. The minister then left for another programme in the district.
