PCC chief Mr Botsa Satyanarayana said that the congress party has decided to contest the Banswada by election scheduled to be held on October 13. Speaking to media persons in Delhi this evening, he said that the congress will put up the candidate for the by poll irrespective of its chances of winning it.
“We don’t mind winning or losing an election but what is important is the decision to contest,” he said. “You will see our campaign,” he said in response to a query on the subjects of congress campaigning.
Botsa also asked the T elements to call off the mass general strike as it is causing immeasurable loss to the people of Telangana. “The Centre and the congress high command have recognized the seriousness of the situation in AP and the Centre will take a final decision shortly on Telangana,” said Botsa.
Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will soon complete the process of negotiations with all parties concerned on Telangana and a decision would be taken soon on the issue, he said and appealed to the T-parties to call off their strike.
