Ramoji family in land grabbing case

Ramoji family in land grab caseMedia baron Ramoji Rao, who has already been facing cheating charges in a leased land case in Visakhapatnam, is now involved in another land grab case.

Ramoji family-owned firm Margadarsi has allegedly grabbed 5.2 acres of government land near the village Palamakula at the Shamshabad international airport adjacent to the national highway no 7.

Ramoji had bought a large extent of land from the city based My Home group owned by Mr Rameswara Rao before the international airport was built there. According to the notices served to Ramoji and his family members by the Rangareddy district revenue authorities, they have raised a compound wall to the entire stretch of land which included the encroached part.

That Ramoji family grabbed the land came to light only after a survey was conducted recently by the revenue authorities. The revenue department immediately served notices to the Ramoji family asking them why action can’t be initiated against them for the said encroachment and why the encroached land taken back.

It is also revealed that Mr Ramoji Rao’s sons, Mr Kiran and Mr Suman, own more than 50 acres of land against the provisions of the AP Land Reforms (Ceiling on Agricultural Holdings) Act, 1973.
