Reasserting his party’s stand vis-à-vis Telangana, the TDP chief Mr Chandrababu Naidu said today that it was the responsibility of the Centre to take a decision on the nagging issue of Telangana.
Reacting to the recent comments of the Union Home Minister Mr P. Chidambaram that the TDP must announce its stand on the issue very clearly, the TDP supremo told a media conference in Hyderabad that the Centre can’t put the blame on others.
“The Centre only has the authority to solve the issue and it should take a decision without passing the buck to others,” he said, adding that his party had passed a resolution in its 2011 TDP supremo asking the centre to solve the issue as per the wishes and aspirations of the people. “We still stand by the resolution.”
Naidu also made it clear that his statements only should be construed as the official stand of TDP on the issue. “Others may speak but they are their personal opinions,” he said.
