After obtaining permission from the High Court to continue the preliminary inquiry into the alleged illegal accumulation of wealth by the YSR Congress party president Mr YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the CBI served fresh notices today to the Jagan-owned companies Janani Infra and Sundur Power asking its representatives to give certain clarifications.
Following this, the officials of the two companies will attend the CBI office on Friday and present the necessary clarifications and documents to the investigating officials.
When the CBI submitted the sealed cover reports on July 26 after two weeks of preliminary investigation, the high court said CBI could take some more time to finish the investigation, if necessary. “But, we will be happy if there won’t be any further extensions,” said the court.
In its exercise of preliminary investigation, CBI questioned representatives of nearly 26 companies related with investments into Jagan group of companies directly or indirectly and sifted through thousands of documents.
The high court also refused a request of the counsel for Jagan to conduct the proceedings in camera. “There is no need for such a secret hearing,” ruled the court.
