Hyderabad future to be decided first

hyderabadThough some of the T congress leaders returned to Hyderabad empty handed with out any assurance from the congress high command on the formation of Telangana, the party leadership and the Center have reportedly decided to find an amicable solution to the Telangana issue as early as possible.

The congress core committee members and the PMO office representatives huddled together on Wednesday and discussed Telangana concentrating on the future of Hyderabad city. “Unless Hyderabad future is decided first, Telangana issue can’t be solved,” seems to be the opinion of the core committee.

Pranab invited Seema Andhra leaders for talks on July 12 or 13 on the issue after they held primary consultations with him in Delhi on Wednesday. MPs Mr Undavalli Arunkumar and Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, Minister Sailajanath, former Minister JC Diwakar reddy and former adviser to state government KVP Ramachandra Rao met Pranab and discussed the issue.

Union Minister and in-charge of AP congress affairs Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad informed the core committee members that he had got a copy of the resolution made by the AP Assembly during the regime of the late YSR which said that the house was not opposing Telangana in principle but opinions of all stake holders must be taken for the purpose. He read out the contents of the resolution to the members.

Azad informed the party president Sonia Gandhi and other core committee members that the T congress leaders are asking to discuss on how the state should be divided and not on whether it should be divided. “The T congress leaders may withdraw resignations if a road map is announced with a fixed time frame on talks,” Azad informed the core committee.

Later, Ahmad Patel, political adviser to the congress president, told media persons they have decided to solve the T issue at the earliest while the Minister in the PMO Mr Narayana Swamy informed the T congress leaders he would initiate discussions with Majlis party and other leaders on the future of Hyderabad. “Hyderabad must be under central rule for some years at least if the state is to be divided,” he seems to have told the T congress leaders.
