The distribution of fish Prasadam to non-vegetarian asthma patients and jaggery Prasadam to vegetarians was completed Thursday by 11 PM. More than 40,000 asthma patients were given the Prasadam by the Bathini Goud family members in a special programme that began at Wednesday night at the Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad.
Revenue authorities have asked the Bathina family to shift the Prasadam distribution venue to the five acre land allotted to them near Katedan in Rajendernagar from next year.
Meanwhile, the AP Balala Hakkula Sangham, in a mockery of the fish Prasadam distribution, administered frog medicine to some people saying the exercise was meant for educating people.
The Sangham alleged that the organizers had not cared for the state human rights commission’s directions that children should be given Prasadam in a hygienic way and demanded Rs. 3 lakh ex gratia to the family of a boy who was killed while on his way to the fish Prasadam.
