With the congress high command planning to give a new life and revitalize the party in AP, the names of Ministers Botsa Satyanarayana and Damodara Rajanarasimha are being considered to take over as two Deputy Chief Ministers of the state.
Reports said congress high command initially wanted to give PCC chief post to Minister Botsa but with the insistence of the chief minister Kirankumar Reddy that the PCC chief post should go to a Telangana leader, party leadership had changed its mind and is considering him to the post of Deputy Chief Minister along with Damodar Rajanarasimha. With the Chief Minister belonging to the Rayalaseema area, party leadership has reportedly decided to do justice to the other two regions of the state.
Botsa belongs to the coastal Andhra area while Damodar Rajanarasimha is from Telangana. Party high command is of the opinion that justice would be done to all the three areas of the state with their elevation as Deputies to the CM.
The high command is also considering the name of chief whip Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for the PCC Chief post in place of D. Srinivas. But Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana and senior leader Paladugu Venkata Rao are also aiming to take over as PCC chief.
During the recent trip of Union Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to Hyderabad, senior leaders have submitted a memorandum demanding proper recognition to the leaders of the SC, ST and BCs for strengthening the congress in the state as most of the Reddy population is turning towards YSR Congress leader YS Jaganmohan reddy.
