Talks on T state, TRS merger going on

In the wake of reports that congress president Sonia Gandhi is now paying attention to ensure the merger of TRS with the congress, more facts on the issue have come to light. It is TRS merger with congress, T state formation, KCRalmost certain that TRS will merge with the congress but when and on what conditions is not yet known.

Reports indicate that Sonia Gandhi has offered KCR to carve out Telangana with in a specific time frame including the introduction of the Telangana Bill in Parliament. Sonia promised for the formation of the Telangana state on the condition that the Hyderabad city would remain a Union Territory for the next five years. However KCR rejected the offer saying that he was ready to share Hyderabad as joint capital with Seema Andhra till the later develops its own capital, according to sources.

The congress leadership has also come forward to appoint KCR as a political adviser to Sonia Gandhi to coordinate party activities at the national level since he is very fluent in English, Hindi and Urdu apart from his native language Telugu. It must however be said that congress has made all these offers including the one on Telangana on the condition of his party being merged with congress.

Believe it or not, AICC general secretary in charge of AP Mr Veerappa Moily and Union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad have been holding discussions on these issues with KCR on phone for the last few days. Reports said that congress leadership has promised to initiate the process on all these decisions after the completion of elections in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Kerala, Assam and Pondicherry in May. Meanwhile, KCR was also asked to ensure the survival of the Kirankumar reddy government if it faced any problems from the Jagan men.
KCR is scheduled to meet Sonia Gandhi and the PM Dr Manmohan Singh next week in Delhi and both TRS and congress may take certain decisions during their discussions. Summing up all these developments, KCR’s son KTR said that merger and other issues can be discussed later after the Telangana Bill is introduced in Parliament.
