The State Congress President, D Srinivas is impression upon the Congress Party High Command to give him the MLC seats. In case of the pressing need for a change in the head of the government,Srinivas perceives that the post of MLC could come in handy for him. Simultaneously, Srinivas is pitching his case for a ministerial berth in the state cabinet.

Anticipating a change in the mood of the Party High Command in near future owing to the unpredictable sequence of events concerning the demand for the statehood, the party cadre close to Srinivas feel that the UPG government may go in for someone from the Telangana region to replace Kiran Kumar Reddy to negate the campaign for a separate state.  

Mr.Srinivas, who belongs to the Backward Class community from the Telangana region, has the firm backing of the Party chief Sonia Gandhi nevertheless contesting the Assembly election unsuccessfully twice in a row.
