TRS chief K. Chandrasekhara Rao once again ruled out the merger of his party with the congress and said it would remain an independent political force in the Telangana.
Addressing delegates after his reelection as the TRS Chief at Mahaboobnagar Friday evening, KCR denied reports that his party would be merged with the congress and said such merger conditions would not be acceptable to him.
“There is no question of accepting the merger demand of the congress for the division of the state,” he asserted. KCR said that TRS is very strong in Telangana and APCC Chief was once defeated by his party and asked how they can merge with a party which is very week.
Ruling out even an alliance with any other party in future, KCR asked his party cadres to prepare for the mid term poll in the state and also for the local body elections.
“If the mid term elections are held, we will win at least 70 to 80 seats out of the 119 assembly seats in Telangana,” he declared.
The delegates’ meeting coincided with the 10th anniversary celebrations of the TRS which reelected him as the party president unanimously.
