Jagan kicks off campaign for by-polls

jagan1Attacking the congress government for allegedly neglecting the welfare of handloom weavers in the state, YSR congress Chief YS Jaganmohan reddy kicked off his by-poll campaign in the Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency on Wednesday.

Aiming at the voters of handloom weaving community, Jagan launched his campaign from Mylavaram mandal ahead of congress and TDP and slammed the congress saying that former Chief Minister, K. Rosaiah, and Chief Minister, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, had reduced the handloom weavers’ budget from Rs 364 Cr to Rs 36 Cr.

Addressing the gathering from his campaign vehicle, Jagan lambasted the former chief minister and TDP chief, N. Chandrababu Naidu saying that he had neglected the welfare of handloom weavers. “TDP founder and the late chief minister N.T. Rama Rao had implemented the Janatha scheme for handloom weavers’ benefit but Chandrababu had totally neglected the weavers,” Jagan charged.

“There is a need to bring back YSR’s golden era in the state and the by-polls are a direct fight between Congress president Sonia Gandhi and YSR,” he said.
