The loss making APSRTC will acquire 4000 new buses this year. The organization’s MD Mr Prasada Rao disclosed this to media persons this evening in Hyderabad.

Shamshabad International airport will be connected directly with all district headquarters through RTC bus services, he said. 30 AC buses also will be introduced to meet the summer rush and the fare will be just one rupee for Km, he said.

Prasada rao said that the RTC suffered a loss of Rs.350 Cr this year as there was no increase in fares. “The costs of acquiring the buses have also gone up beyond expected limits,” he said.
