Krishna TDP plunges into deep crisis

tdp-fightThe faction politics of TDP in Krishna district have taken the prestige of the party to its lowest ebb today. The one-upmanship game resorted to by the group leaders for selfish ends had become a major headache to the party president Chandrababu Naidu.

Citing the reason that senior party leader Hari Krishna was humiliated by the Krishna district TDP president Devineni Umamaheswara rao during his recent trip to the district, urban unit President Vallabhaneni Vamsi resigned his post and faxed his resignation to the party president this morning.

He said that Uma was trying to dominate the party affairs in the district with an intention of suppressing all other leaders in TDP. MLA Kodali Nani also leveled the same allegations against Uma.

Denying the allegations, Uma announced that he was resigning from the district unit party president’s post. “I am saddened by their allegations and I have decided to quit the party post,” Uma said in an angry reaction.

Vamsi to continue in TDP

Rejecting media reports that he was planning to join the YSR Congress party, Vamsi said that he was ready to work under the leadership of Uma if he tendered an apology to Hari Krishna. He also challenged him to resign the MLA post and seek re-election to the assembly. “ I will continue in TDP only since he quit the party post,” he told a media conference in Vijayawada.

He said the Devineni family was trying to dominate the Krishna district politics and challenged Uma to contest against the congress leader Devineni Nehru.

“He wants to dominate in the TDP and his brother Nehru wants to dominate in the congress and his other brother Chandrasekhar wants the district leadership of the YSR Congress. The Devineni family wants to control the district totally,” Vamsi alleged.

Reacting to the crisis in the district TDP, Hari Krishna is said to be considering bringing about a compromise between various groups in the party in the district.
