In pursuit of a solution to the nagging Telangana problem, the congress core committee members began their discussions a short while ago at the residence of the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in Delhi.

The meeting was presided over by party president Sonia Gandhi and attended by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Defense Minister AK Antony and Home Minister Chidambaram besides the Prime Minister.

Ghulam Nabi Azad, Health Minister and in charge of the congress affairs in AP, too attended the meeting as a special invitee.

There are expectations that the congress leadership will finalize certain proposals on Telangana in today’s core committee meeting before taking up the issue with the UPA partners in the next few days. But even before that, the proposals will find a discussion in the Congress working committee meeting.
