Skin discoloration finds its roots in Genetics. People whose family has a predisposition of dark circles tend to get them more often. And if both your parents have them, you will too. Dermatologist Heidi Waldorf shared some of her pearls of wisdom with Elle.
Speaking to Elle, the MD doctor noted that volume depletion due to aging causes deep shadows under the eyes. For some others, a pale and thin skin on the surface exposes the vessels beneath, giving the under eye area a dark shadow. Allergies and frequent eye rubbing were also mentioned as causes for under eye circles.
Minimizing their occurrence is the first line defense, experts say. Getting proper sleep is a solution for many health and beauty issues. Dark circles are not exempt from this practice. Plenty of sleep and sufficient hydration keeps those unsightly circles at a distance.
Investing in a good sun screen is a must for all skin related worries. For the more serious worries about under eye circles, gentle eye creams are a safe bet.
