Hyderabad Techie Critical In US Bike Accident:- According to reports, a 35-year old techie, from Hyderabad city met with a bike accident in Worcester, Massachussets and is in critical condition.

The victim has been identified as Kesav Kalluri. The accident happened as Kesav, while riding a bike, crashed into a wall in the suburbs of Worcester. At the University of Massachusetts, Kesav works as a Post-doctoral Research Associate.

A 2002 alumnus of Osmania University, Kesav hold degrees in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering under his belt. Since 2008, he has been employed with the University of Massachusetts in different teaching positions. Kesav worked as a software engineer, between 2002 and 2007.

A GoFundMe campaign has been started by the relatives of the victim for helping him, collecting nearly USD7K from a goal of USD100K in five days.

In the fund raising request, the victim’s uncle, a resident of New Jersey, wrote that the bike accident happened towards the end of May, ‘over the Memorial Day (May 29) weekend’. The details of the condition of Kesav were given in the fund raising request by the victim’s uncle Ramaswamy Sastry Varanasi. He said the spinal cord of Kesav Kalluri was ‘very badly affected’ and ‘needed an emergency surgery’.

Sastry wrote “He also underwent a hip replacement surgery. Currently, he is paralyzed waist-down, and the doctors are skeptical about the full recovery of his lower extremities.”

Sastry added that Kesav had ‘lost both his parents and has one older brother living in New Jersey’. He is in desperate need of financial help. As a family, we are doing our best in offering financial and moral support. That said, he has a long way to go. We would be very grateful for your generosity,” he wrote.

Ramaswamy Sastry in the fundraising note referred to his nephew as ‘Vasu’, and friends of the victim were also seen calling him by that name on the comments to his Facebook posts.
