The last day of the three-day-convention of American Telugu Association concluded on Sunday. The event, which took place in Atlanta, has drawn a large number of Telugu people residing in the United States. The main attraction on the last day of the convention was ashtavadhanam held by Garikapati Narasimha Rao for about three hours. It may be noted that ashtavadhanam is considered as one of the tougher tasks that only a few Telugu pandits can handle.
Actress Ilena was another attraction on the concluding day of ATA 2012 convention. The music ceremony by Taman—Taaralu Digivachchinavela received overwhelming response. ATA organizing committee felicitated the grand donors. Among them was Dr. Lakireddy Hanimi Reddy who contributed RS. 25 crores to ATA.
All in all, its a good note that Indian associations in the United States are striving for preserving the Telugu culture and tradition.
