
Rajat Rawali had already purchased the rights for the Amitabh's Hit movie Kaalia's remake for a grand sum of Rs 3 cr. He had also shortlisted the lead role actors for the movie choosing three top stars to replace Amitabh Bachchan.
The news of the hero who decides to step into the shoes of Big B is eagerly awaited with the hits remakes of his movies are making recently.
Rajat had confirmed that the rights have been purchased but had refused to comment on the crew of the film. He said that he was indebted to the Ek Tha Tiger star, Salman Khan. He said that he was solely responsible for his stature in the industry today after the movie Ready. He said he respects Ajay Devgn for being a tremendous actor and also takes the name of Akshay Kumar for being the highest paid actor with huge box office collections. Rajat emphasized that he would focus mroe on the script and his immediate next step was to take in a director for the movie.
He explained, "Once I have the director on board, we'll get a writing team in place to give the story a contemporary feel. Only after the script is ready, will I approach a top star and I hope that whoever I offer the film, agrees to act in it."
He said Kaalia was his choice of the movie for a remake mostly because the movie has a greater potential for a brand than its original release time. He also stated that powerful dialogues like 'Hum jahaan khade ho jaate hain, line vahin se shuru ho jaati hai (the queue begins from where I stand) and the exceptionally good music makes it a great action movie. Jahaan Teri Yeh Nazar Hai, Jabse Tumko Dekha, and Tum Saath Ho Jab Apne are a few songs the world won't forget he said indicating that he may retain the original songs in the movie and the background score.
