Rajinikanth Honoured With Dadasaheb Phalke Award:- Superstar Rajinikanth is the recipient of the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the highest award granted by the government of India for a film personality. For the year 2019, Rajinikanth was selected and he was honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award today at the 67th National Film Awards event that took place in New Delhi. Rajinikanth received Dadasaheb Phalke Award from the Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu today in New Delhi. His fans congratulated Rajinikanth on the occasion. The top actor dedicated this award for his mentor and director K Balachander along with his brother Sathyanarayana Rao Gaikwad and his friend Raj Bahadur who is a bus driver.

The five-member jury consisting of Asha Bhonsle, director Subhash Ghai, Mohanlal, Shankar Mahadevan and actor Biswajeet Chatterjee finalized Rajinikanth for the honour of Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2019. Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan received the prestigious award for the year 2018. Rajinikanth along with his wife Latha, daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth and son-in-law Dhanush walked into the event. Rajinikanth thanked everyone for the honour and he congratulated the winners of the national awards. Rajinikanth also thanked his directors, producers, technicians and distributors for the achievement. He thanked his fans specially before concluding his speech.

Rajinikanth's next film Annaatthe is hitting the screens on November 4th. Shiva is the director and Meena, Khushbu, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh and Prakash Raj will be seen in other important roles. Sun Pictures are the producers and D Imman is the music composer.
