A few days ago, spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar drew criticism on the social media for his remark on Pakistani teen activist Malala Yousafzai.
He had said, "Nowadays there is no value to the Nobel prize. When you award it to a 16-year-old girl who hasn't done anything, what value is left? It has become a political joke."
Responding to this, the aggressive Twinkle Khanna, who is known for her bold reaction, tried to target the spiritual leader, but it got misfired and came back to her.
After the issue went viral, the actress turned writer, was trolled by the several followers of Sri Sri's Art of Living course.
Threatened over this, the actress then had to come down and seek apologize. In this mood, she made an another post saying, “Didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings was meant to be a joke and am old enough to accept an error of judgment on my part (sic).”
Not convinced with this, the trolls still started attacking the actress twitter handle. A few even went to initiate a protest and boycott the films of Akshay Kumar, Twinkle’s husband.
A source says, "It is rather surprising and disturbing that the followers of a course that presumably teaches purporting peace would resort to such lengths when someone chooses to not agree with them or their leader."
However, there are few, who even backed Twinkle and criticized the spiritual guru, for allegedly making his followers attack the actress.
