SIFAA backs Rajini

The South Indian Film Artistes' Association [SIFAA] came in support of Superstar Rajinikanth and said it is unfair to blame or accuse Rajini for the disappointing result of 'Lingaa' movie. Over the past few days, distributors of Lingaa movie are demanding compensation for the huge losses that were incurred. However, Rajini has always maintained silence in this issue.

At a time when the protest and pressure was mounting on Rajini, the SIFAA stepped in action and extended its support to the actor. Some of the distributors said that they were compensated earlier with Rajinikanth's 2002 release ‘Baba’ and 2008 release ‘Kuselan’  which were flops. In the same manner, they want to get back their money.

However, SIFAA released a statement which said, “a film's success or failure is decided by the audience. Film is no exception to business. Lingaa was expected to do well but the film did not do well. But it is not right to approach the hero of a film for losses. The distributors should discuss with the producer on this issue.”
