Hyderabad girl shines at Chennai!  Sri Divya is a Telugu girl born and brought up at Hyderabad debuted with Hanuman Junction in 2000. After that she could get only 5 offers till 2013. She got recognition with Maruthi's "Bus Stop" in 2012 after she acted in "Mallela Theeramalo Sirimallepuvvu" in 2013 which did not fare well.

Telugu producers and directors hunt for heroines from other languages and they have to be given dubbing as they do not speak Telugu but never give value to our State products.  But the Tamil directors who have seen a great heroine in Sri Vidya welcomed her with open hands.  Result is 5 Tamil movies in 2013 itself number of which is equivalent to the offers she received in Telugu during 13 years.  We know how to lose a potential artist!

It is like “Karachi Halwa” that was famous in Mumbai.  A person who went to Pakistan wanted to get Karachi Halwa from Karachi to have a better taste than the best in Mumbai.  For his disappointment he could not find “Karachi Halwa” sweet shop in Karchi.  Someone suggested him to go to the corner shop which is famous in Karachi.  For his surprise, the shop at the corner that is the best in Karachi was “Bombay Halwa”.

You always like to have something that is not domestic.  Knowing the trend of the customers the sweet shop in Mumbai was called “Karachi Halwa” and a similar shop at Karachi was called “Bombay Halwa”.
There is a proverb in Telugu which goes as “The basil (Tulasi) in your compound is not fit for medicinal use”.

But our directors certainly call Sri Divya back when she proves her worth there and increases her remuneration for sure!
