Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalli Chettu (SVSC) and Naayak released this festive season are fiercely competing at the ticket counter from day one. Though in reality the two films were going steady even after the initial hype which is a record of different sort in Tollywood. The three heroes, Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan are equally hogging the limelight unlike the previous years when only one emerges are a victor when released together during festivals.
Given the number of screens the films show and the collections earned goes on to prove that both SVSC and Naayak are blockbusters in their own rights.
Another record is that the Satellite rights for the films have also helped them boost their individual dividends while standing up as records till date. However SVSC had a better edge over its rival.
While Naayak had been rumored to have sold the rights for 6.5 crores, SVSC had bagged 8.5 crores. The figures are astronomical for Telugu films, till date. Another rare distinction for the two films.
Naayak with Ram Charan at the helm has Kajal Agarwal and Amala Paul sharing the screen space and is directed by V V Vinayak. It is an hilarious action entertainer.
On the other hand, SVSC boasts of a big star cast with Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu, Anjali, Samantha and Prakash Raj in the lead.
SVSC is a family entertainer and has taken the credit of luring families back to the theatre, a film where all three generations in a family could sit together and view the film. (Wishesh AarKay)
