January 2021 starts on a Top-Class note for Tollywood:- Telugu cinema was badly shattered last year after the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic. The theatres are shut for ten months and several films headed for a digital release which left the exhibition industry in deep shock. Tollywood resumed its operations this year and Sankranthi 2021 witnessed a bunch of releases. Ravi Teja's Krack was the first film to test its luck and the film is racing towards the biggest hit in the actor's career. The film minted over Rs 35 crores and is still raking decent numbers at the Tollywood box-office.
Vijay's film Master released on January 13th and the film opened with a bang. The Telugu theatrical rights are sold for Rs 9 crores and the film is expected to close at Rs 15 crores in its final run. Ram's RED is the next film that released and the film too will end up as a profitable project even after getting mixed response from the audience. Bellamkonda Sreenivas' upcoming release Alludu Adhurs ended up as the first disappointment of the season and the film will end up as a loss venture in its final run.
Sankranthi box-office has been completely impressive as the audience rushed to theatres to watch the films and despite of the 50 percent occupancy, the films raked good revenues. 30 Rojullo Preminchatam Ela is the recent release and the film too collected huge numbers over the weekend. January box-office has been completely impressive and it paved paths for many releases in the upcoming months. February and March will have a release of several small and medium budget films releasing in February and March.
