Multi starrer movie by Srikanth Addala, Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu (SVSC), which was released barely five days back, has etched a new history in Telugu Cinema with its collections. Right from Godavari districts to Krishna to Nizam and Ceded, there's no exception to SVSC when it comes to records. And it's not fans of stars that made this movie a success but the strong content and human values projected in the film. Majority of family audiences doesn't like the following this in a movie:
• Masala dialogues
• Item songs
• Action
• B grade comedy
Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu doesn't have any of them, which right away attracted the family audience. Credit obviously goes to Srikanth Addala who gave a new definition that a director should not just bank on the star image. Yes, star image might fetch profits for the movie but will that movie be remembered forever? Everyone knows the answer. And Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu is one movie that would be remembered forever.
Actors Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu too kept aside their star image and pride. That's actually what family audience want. People are fed up with routine dialogues on greatness of one's families and stuff like that. They want to see a true character and not a star. Even in that terms, SVSC lived up to the expectations and hence the response has been so good. Let us hope that some directors now at least realize the strength of script and focus more on that instead of star image. As rightly said by universal actor Kamal Haasan, story of the movie should become the hero and protagonist should never dominate the story.
