The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has said that legal action can be taken against the producer of the film 'A Woman in Braamanism,' for releasing the trailers of the movie on Internet without permission from the board. Reacting to the letter written to the union minister Ambika Soni by Undavelli Arun Kumar raising objects against this movie, Ambika Soni ordered CBFC to conduct an inquiry by CBFC. Accordingly, a committee was set up. After going through the film, the committee said that there was nothing against the Brahmin community in this movie. The committee even mentioned producer's words that this movie was based on a 1937 novel 'Brahmaneekam.'
It is known that A Woman in Braamanism has been hitting headlines for quite sometime due to the controversies surrounding the title. Several people raised objections against this movie and some even urged chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy to ensure the movie doesn't get released.
