Satyameve Jayate in copyright trouble

Satyamev Jayate was on everyone’s lips on Sunday and till day. It had created sensational ripples in the Indian society as the first episode had been focused on female foeticide. This topic had been engulfing the society like a wild fire. In spite of stringent laws, the menace is on the prowl alike in both the urban and rural worlds. This has even led to a serious threat of gender imbalance in the society. But with Aamir Khan getting involved in the project the issue has gained importance and is acknowledged nation-wide. However not everyone is concentrating on the episode only, it is noted that noted singer from the Euphoria brand, Palash Sen has filed a copyright infringement against the program’s music composer  Ram Sampath on the title track. Palash claims that the track somewhere was similar to one of their old tunes with the same name, while Ram asks viewers to listen to both the tunes and decide. Also Ram is pursuing legally over the issue.

Ram released a statement in this regards:
"Satyamev Jayate is a show that raises important, pertinent issues of national concern and I would not like attention to be diverted from them. Therefore, I am more than happy to clear my name in court as I have great faith in the Indian judiciary. Our team is preparing a strong fitting reply. I also request people to listen to the two songs before jumping to conclusions," Ram Sampath said in a statement

What Palash team has to say?
Palash PR said, "Since the band has been touring and performing at concerts we got to know about it late. A fan posted it on the Facebook page and that is how we got to know about it. We sent a legal notice to Star India and Aamir Khan Productions on Saturday. We have not yet received any response on it. Our legal team will be in touch with their legal advisers. We just want them to give us credit because the entire song is around the chorus of our song Satyamev Jayate from our album in the year."

Public response seems to dominate the social networking sites about the program and in particular about the burning issue (female foeticide). Thanks to Aamir, what innumerous acts could not achieve, overnight the one hour episode has achieved, say sources.  (With Inputs from Internet- Aarkay)
