New Feature Of Snapchat Raises Privacy Concerns?

New Feature Of Snapchat Raises Privacy Concerns?:- Privacy concerns are being raised for parents and child safety advocates by the latest update to the photo-sharing app, Snap chat, the Snap Map.

As per the new update, certain users can track down your exact location. In addition, you can select to share your location with all your friends, a few friends you select, or you can disappear by going into “Ghost Mode” from the map at any time with this new feature.

But, a few concerns have been expressed by the experts about the privacy implications of such a feature.

Childnet International, a children’s internet safety advocacy group, said in a blog post, “Think about where you are sharing your location. Location services such as Snap Maps can lead people to your house.”

By default, the location sharing is off in “ghost mode” and it is impossible to share your location with someone who is not your friend, said Snapchat.

“We want to make sure that all ‘Snapchatters’, parents and educators have accurate information about how the snap map works,” a Snapchat spokesperson told a leading news channel.

The experts advise users to only share their location with people they know in person, and never with strangers.

Cyber security expert Charles Tendell was quoted as saying, “It is very easy to accidentally share everything that you have got with more people than you need too, and that is the scariest portion.”
