Facebook has introduced a new mobile application called ‘Events’ on Friday. This app helps to notify both iOS and Android users on the upcoming events, and events in which their friends are willing to go.
'Event' was initially an in-app feature of the social media website; however, it will now appear as a completely new app.
“You can quickly catch up on new events your friends are interested in, recently announced events by the Pages you like, and updates from events you're already connected to,” reads a decryption by Facebook when you first open the app.
The app will allow users to search for events based on their time and location. Moreover, the app itself will suggest users about the upcoming events based on their preferences.
The app features a Map that will apprise users about nearby events and a calendar that will display upcoming events. Users can also sync the in-app calendar with other calendar apps installed on their smartphone.
The app is available on the Apple’s App Store; however, it is yet to be launched on the Android platform.
"When you open Events, you can quickly catch up on new events your friends are interested in, recently-announced events by the Pages you like, and updates from events you're already connected to," Koolwal said.
