Spaniard Rafael Nadal cruised into the Australian Open 2014 final after defeating Swiss master, sixth seed Roger Federer in the semi finals. Nadal played outstandingly well right from the beginning of the match despite the hand injury. Federer lost in straight sets 7-6, 6-3, 6-3 to Nadal in a 2 hours and 26 minutes match and registered his 23rd loss to the Spaniard in 33 encounters.

Nadal will meet an other Switzerland player Wawrinka in the finals on Sunday who defeated second seed Djokovic in quarter finals and Berdych in semi finals.
