The Australian team were at the losing end, the day Virat Kohli smashed records to become the fastest Indian to score hundred runs. George Baily gracefully conceded defeat, agreeing that Virat's 100 off just 52 balls clinched the match in India's favor.

Despite the Aussies scoring a tall 359, Virat single-handedly set the pace for a winning match, running away the winner after only 43.3 overs. With more than 6 overs to spare, Australia lost the match by 9 wickets. Bailey shared that he knew the match was out of his hands the 'moment Virat entered the field.'

“He started attacking us from ball one but never took any risks which would have helped us come back into the game. He set the tempo and it was smart cricket from him. Basically all three of them (Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma) batted amazingly but it was Virat who took the game away from us. It was pretty awesome,” the captain was quoted by DNA as saying.

“The fuller deliveries were going over our head while the short ones were hit to the side boundary," Bailey added. Virat, on his part, said that he did not walk out there to make a record. "I wanted to go out there and play my part. I did not plan to get it (the century) in 52 balls. It is not about how many balls you get it but if the team wins or not," Kohli said after the match.

Kohli is also the highest scorer in India this year and the seventh fastest century scorer globally. The demand for India's blue eyed boy just got higher. Virat Kohli has given a fitting slap to all his critics.
