Auckland Aces need 141 to win

Auckland Aces have an easy target to get over in thisChampions League T20 match at the SuperSport Park in Centurion on Tuesday. Michael Bates had finished with figures worth mentioning at 4/34 while he picked up crucial wickets of Luke Ronchi and Joe Mennie in the last over.

Though the Scorchers performance initially left much to be desired, Beaton and Paul Collingwood came to the team's rescue with a much needed 51-run partnership after their team lost the wickets of skipper Marcus North, and Simon Katich.

Herschelle Gibbs fell for Michael Bates's delivery giving the Aces an early break through. North who scored 37 was sent back to the pavillion after a direct hit by Kyle Mills and Katich made no delay to join him after Ronnie Hira's aggressive bowling.

Though a simple victory will not earn them the ticket to semi-finals, Aces will try their best to get the Kiwis into further rounds of the CLT20.

Scorcher's have no chances on the other hand after the final blow was delivered by Delhi's crunching victory over the former. They had earlier gotten off the wrong foot with their loss against Titans.

Teams:

Auckland Aces: Gareth Hopkins (Capt. and wk), Azhar Mahmood, Michael Bates, Colin de Grandhomme, Martin Guptill, Ronnie Hira, Anaru Kitchen, Bruce Martin, Kyle Mills, Colin Munro, Lou Vincent.

Perth Scorchers: Marcus North (Capt.), Tom Beaton, Michael Beer, Paul Collingwood, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Ryan Duffield, Herschelle Gibbs, Brad Hogg, Simon Katich, Joe Mennie, Luke Ronchi (wk).
