US Opens, global Tennis Championships begin on Monday and shall be played at the prestigious USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, New York. Today is the second day of the tournament, which has started off well on Monday. In the women singles event, Maria Sharponova tested waters on Monday and battled with Hungarian Melinda Czink. Eventually won the match 6-2, 6-2. The events from Flushing meadows, New York also had the US Open defending champion, Samantha Stosur testing waters yesterday. She beats Petra Martic of Croatia in easy fashion, 6-1, 6-1.
In the Men singles segment Olympic Champion Andy Murray beats the Russian Alex Bogomolov Jr with roller coaster fortunes of 6-2 6-4 6-1. There seems to be more excitement on the cards with more matches on the anvil in the carnival. The three most important players that are to be watched are Serbian professional tennis player Novak Djokovic, Swiss tennis sensation Roger Federer and America's own Serena Williams. All the three out there, to prove their supremacy.
The Serbian is currently ranked number two, as the number one Rafael Nadal not participating the Serbian has an advantage. He has won five Grand Slam singles titles. The Australian Open in 2008, 2011, Wimbledon Championships in 2012, 2011 and the US Open last year. He is right now the defending champion in the tournament.
The Swiss veteran ranked the numero uno by the ATP is a tough competitor to Djokovic. Federer has many records against his name and in particular has won 17 grand slams.
