Golf: Indian duo outshine at Gujarat

Indian debut duo makes a mark on the Gujarat Kensville Challenge golf and shared the lead at the midway stage. They are closely followed by the European trio.

On Saturday, the European Challenge Tour conducts the third round of the 2012 Gujarat Kensville Challenge at the beautiful and challenging course at Kensville Golf Club, India. Meanwhile on yesterday Indian debutants Rahil Gangjee (69) and Shiv Kapur (68) shared the lead at seven-under 137 at the midway stage. And in case they have their way they shall become the tenth professional players to win on their Challenge Tour debuts.

But the close friends are closely trailed by Englishmen, Gary Lockerbie (69) and Seve Benson (68) and Swede Jens Danthorp (68) all of whom are at six-under 138 in tied third place. While Gangjee a 10th-tee starter, birdied 10, 11, 13, 14 and bogeyed 16 and 18. He then went on to birdie the 6th hole. On the other hand, Kapur also began with a birdie on the 10th and added three more before a bogey on the 6th.
