The ace Indian tennis duo did not see any change in their individual rankings, but as a team escalated to number four from five following their victory over the Bryan brothers at the Western and Southern Open, Cincinnati. The ATP announced the rankings.
India’s Mahesh Bhupathi and Leander Paes did not move from their doubles rankings of 6 and 8 respectively. Rohan Bopanna and his Pakistani partner Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi also remained unmoved at number six in team rankings. Bopanna, India’s Davis Cupper, also was static at number 9 in the individual doubles ranking.
It may be noted that the Indian duo beat, the Bryan brothers, Bob and Mike in a brilliant come back with a record of 1-6, 7-6(2) and 10-7, to move on, at the Cincinnati.
