India given target of 261 for victory

AustraliaAustralia, which began cautiously after winning the toss and electing to bat first in their Cricket World Cup 2011 quarter final encounter against India today at Montera, made 260 runs for the loss of 6 wickets with a run rate of 5.2 in the given 50 overs. India now need to make 261 runs to win this match and face Pakistan in semi finals.

For India, Ravi Chandran Aswin, Zaheer Khan and Yuva Raj Singh claimed two wickets each.
Captain Rickey Ponting top scored for Australia by scoring 104 in 118 balls and wicket keeper Brad Haddin remained the next highest scorer with his 53.

The quarter final is also the 100th one day international for Indian Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Dhoni had picked up opener Virender Sehwag in place of Yousaf Pathan for the Indian squad after doctors certified that Sehwag is fit to play. Earlier there are reports that Sehwag may not play as he has not fully recovered from his injury.

Australia too has made small change in its team bringing in David Hussey in place of Steven Smith.
