International Cricket Council (ICC) said today it will hand over USD 2,50, 000 to India for sitting on top of the Test cricket rankings and finishing second in One Day International cricket this season.
The ICC in a statement in Dubai said that out of the total amount to be given to the country, USD 175,000 is meant for first rank in Tests and the rest for attaining the second rank in ODIs. Indian team has been continuing as number one in Test Cricket since December 2009 with 128 points.
The ICC said that South Africa (127 points) will pocket USD 75,000 for ending in second position in the Test Championship table at the cut-off date of April 1.
Australia will get USD 175,000 for finishing on top of the ODIs with 128 points at the cut-off date, 8 more than what India attained.
