‘Sexomnia’ now prevalent in bedrooms

According to the study by Guy Meadows of The Sleep School and Bensons for Beds it was revealed that one in ten had ‘sexomnia’ during sleep. “Sexomnia” is a condition where a person engages in sexual activity during sleep.

For the study the researchers looked at the sleeping habits of 13,000 adults across Britain. The team found that one in 10 people experience ‘Sexomnia” and apart from that they also observed that one in ten people went to the toilet while they were asleep. One in seven admitted to experiencing sleep paralysis and one in 10 even stopped breathing, 16 percent of people have eaten light snacks while sleepwalking.

From the expert’s analysis, women who experience intimacy during sleep typically exhibit “sexual vocalisations” and masturbation and men would engage in folding and intercourse. It is also noticed that people who suffer from this sexomnia also experience disorders such as sleep apnea and sleep deprivation.

Experts say that busy and hectic lives are the main reasons for the sleeplessness or for sleep disorders. So, it is good to manage your time to have sound sleep.
