Bengal Warriors could not performed well in front of the Patna Pirates’ late counter attack led by star raider Pradeep Narwal as they lost by six points in 39th game of fourth season of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League at Netaji Subhash Chnadra Bose Indoor Stadium on Sunday. Patna Pirates are at the top of the table with 41 points and winning 8 matches from the total 10 and Bengal Warriors are at the bottom of the table with scoring 17 points and winning 2 of total 10.
Surjeet Narwal and Jang Kun Lee’s raids helped Bengal Warriors to take initial lead 2-0. Rajesh Mondal, opening the account, gave a lead of 3-2 to his team. Patna’s star raider Pradeep Narwal could not score a single point in the initials stages and hence Bengal Warriors were leading 6-3 after 10 minutes. Surjeet Singh tried to make some scoring and scored a raid as the whole team was trailing 6-7 in the 13th minute. Although, Bengal Warriors looked an edge ahead Patna, after 18 minutes the score was level at 10-10. At the end, Bengal Warriors managed to end the first half with 12-10 lead.
Later, Pradeep Narwal, who couldn’t score till the 27th minute, opened his account in the second half and managed to level the game at 16-16 after 29 minutes. Coming back in form, Pradeep Narwal scored a super tackle and provided a crucial 21-18 lead to his team at 32nd minute. He then continued to score points and additionally Patna managed to score their first all out. Shocked by Pradeep Narwal’s sudden attack, Bengal warriors, tried to chase the score as they were trailing 22-29. Star raider Jang Kun Lee scored a super raid to cut the deficit 26-29 but his efforts could not go much further as Pirates scored two super tackles in 40th minute to end the game 33-27.
