With the passing of time, the wounds heal and left behind are the scars. One such wound which had been inflicted on the body of mother India was the ruthless killing of thousands of unarmed and innocent Indian men, women and children in Jallianwala Bagh by the high handed Britisher, General O’Dyer. This was the ugliest face and form of the period of slavery, when Mother India had been bound in the shackles of thralldom. A wall standing in the middle of garden still bears the testimony of the barbaric event in form of the bullet marks which had been shot indiscriminately on the ill-fated day of Baisakhi. Many of the people had taken leap into a nearby well in their bid to save their lives and there by they met the unmatured death.
