Sleep Is The Most Underrated Antioxidant:- Sleep plays a crucial role in the health of any person. It all revolves around the hormone melatonin. Healthy deep sleep helps us in many ways. The hormone melatonin is secreted by the pineal gland which regulates the sleep-walk cycle. Several people who are struggling for sleep are prescribed in the form of tablets to regulate their circadian cycle. Most of them are unable to have a deep sleep because of the stressful environment. This damages our DNA and leads to several diseases. Melatonin serves as an antioxidant and works as an anti-cancer agent.

The health of any individual depends on the quality of his sleep. It is the sleep-walk cycle that governs the hormones melatonin and cortisol. 75% of the hormone gets released during the sleep and it gets released in three phases. All those who are suffering with liver related diseases struggle to have a good sleep. The liver has its clock for detoxification of the hormones. The disturbed sleep also results in raised cortisol levels. This results in fatigue and drowsiness during the day time due to less sleep. Though there are supplements available, most of them cannot be replaced with a quality sleep.
