All eyes on Pawan Kalyan and Pithapuram:- Pithapuram (formerly Puruhutika Puram and Peetikapuram), situated in the heart of East Godavari district, is a significant pilgrimage site in Andhra Pradesh. The Kukkuteswara Swamy temple, the Puruhutika Devi temple, and the Sripada Srivallabha temple are popular destinations for devotees. Despite its religious importance, Pithapuram was not a significant political constituency. With less than 2.3 lakh voters, it paled in comparison to other prominent areas like Kuppam, Pulivendula, and Mangalagiri. However, this has changed with the upcoming 2024 election. Jana Sena Party leader Pawan Kalyan, who has a significant following, is running for office in Pithapuram. He lost in his previous attempts to win a seat, making this year's election crucial for him. Meanwhile, the ruling YSRC party is keen on stopping him from causing trouble in the legislative body. Unfortunately, the deciding factor in this election is caste, rather than development. The property is located around 40 km from the central hub of Hyderabad and commanded a premium price. In total, Microsoft acquired three land parcels in Hyderabad for approximately Rs 275 crore to build their new data centre. The Hyderabad data centre region will join the three existing regions in India, located in Pune, Mumbai and Chennai, which have been operational for the past five years. Microsoft already operates an India Development Centre (IDC) spanning 54 acres in Hyderabad, as well as centres in Bengaluru and Noida, which have played a significant role in developing Microsoft's technological portfolio. This includes Azure, Windows, Office, and Bing. Microsoft Corporation (India) has acquired a commercial land spanning 10.89 lakh sq ft in Pune from Finolex Industries for a total of Rs 328.84 crore. The land, located at Pimpri Waghere in Pune, was obtained through a lease transfer agreement with Finolex Industries. The BRS leader's father and former Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has denied all charges against his daughter in the Delhi excise policy case. He alleged that the scam was launched by the Center to tighten the control of the BJP, especially over the Aam Aadmi Party and the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS). Former Telangana chief minister maintained that his daughter K Kavitha was "innocent" and said "such great leaders" should not stay in jail for so long.
