Hyundai has introduced the automatic transmission variant of the S+ mid-range trim to the market at a price of Rs. 13.56 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Korean carmaker had already introduced the S+ AT trim a couple of months ago but did not mention any price.
Now as the price of the trim is listed on the official website of Hyundai, the bookings for the automatic transmission variant have begun in the metros in India. The price of Rs. 13.56 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) is lower than the price of the top-end SX+ automatic trim by about Rs. 1 lakh.
The Creta S+ AT trim will surely boost the sale of the Creta, as the feature is made available on the slightly lower priced version of the SUV. The Creta tops the sales charts in the compact SUV segment in India, being the bestseller since it was launched last year.
Now, you can book for the Creta S+ trim in metros at (ex-showroom prices) Rs. 13.78 lakhs (Chennai), Rs. 14.27 lakhs (Mumbai), Rs. 13.99 lakhs (Kolkata) and Rs. 13.76 lakhs (Bengaluru). The Creta S+ AT's direct rival is the Renault Duster AMT, which is priced Rs. 13.14 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Creta S+ AT uses the 1.6-litre, CRDi, VGT, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel mill, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, to power itself. The power output is 126 bhp at 4000 rpm and 265 Nm of torque at 1900 rpm. The Creta comes with a front-wheel drive configuration.
Hyundai Creta is a very sporty SUV with alloy wheels, distinct roof rails, etc. The front profile of the car has the projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights, 'three part' front-grille with horizontal chrome slats and rectangular bold-and-aggressive fog lamps. The Creta S+ trim won't have any premium features though as the infotainment system, navigation, cruise control, etc. as does the top-spec SX+ variant.
