Bajaj Auto has expanded its Pulsar range of bikes with the launch of two new models AS 150 and AS 200, priced at Rs 79,000 and Rs 91,550 (ex-showroom Delhi). During the launch, Bajaj Auto Ltd President (Motorcycles Business) Eric Vas said: "The Pulsar Adventure Sport series will be a delight to young bikers who want to fulfill their need of daily city riding, while at the same time desire to explore vast and incredible outdoors over the weekends."
The Pulsar AS 200 is powered by a 199.5 cc triple spark, 4-valve liquid cooled DTSi engine. It is based on the Pulsar 200 NS’s platform. It is powered by the same four-valve, DTS-i, triple-spark, liquid-cooled, 199.5 cc single-cylinder engine which is capable of 23.5 PS of power. AS 200 features an Alpha-male styling with an aerodynamic half-fairing and a muscular tank. The motorcycle gets an extended touring windscreen to prevent wind blast. A high-intensity projector headlight is also present on the Pulsar AS 200. It uses a pressed steel perimeter frame which is claimed to offer a high-stiffness and low-flex ratio. A telescopic front fork and a Nitrox mono suspension are seen on the bike. At 1,363 mm, the AS 200 is claimed to offer the longest wheelbase in its class. AS 200 gets a 280 mm disc up front and a 230 mm disc for the rear. ABS is not offered on the motorcycle.
The Pulsar AS 150 runs on a 149.5 cc twin spark, 4-valve air cooled DTSi engine. It is not based on the Pulsar 150, but features a perimeter frame chassis much like the Pulsar AS 200 and the Pulsar 200 NS. It is powered by a 149.5 cc single-cylinder, twin-spark, 4-valve, air-cooled, DTS-i engine which produces 17 PS of power at 9,500 rpm. AS 150 too gets a half-fairing, a muscular tank, an extended visor and a projector headlight. The suspension is handled by a telescopic front fork and a monoshock Nitrox unit, much like the AS 200.
Both motorcycles are available in a choice of three colors viz. Red, Black and Blue.
