The Public sector bank employees have called for four day strike from January 21, demanding the revision of long pending wages issue. Earlier, the employees planned to hold a one day strike on January 7th but was taken back as per the request of Indian Banks' Association. However as there was no solution in the issue, United Forum of Bank Unions has called for this four day strike which has over 10 lakh bank employees under its roof.
The wage revision for bank employees is due from November one, 2012 and further the Public Sector bank employees have also decided to go on an indefinite strike from March 16 onwards, if their demands are not met. The four day strike from January 21st of bank employees will have severe impact as the following days 25th and 26th are public holidays.
