The Central government has named Telugu actor Nitin, former cricketer VVS Laxman, popular singer SP Balasubramanyam and few other iconic personalities as Swachh Bharat ambassadors. Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has made formal nominations to the Clean India campaign, which the BJP led NDA government has launched in a grand style.

The other personalities from the Telugu states include, Parliamentarians K. Kavitha, Galla Jayadev, badminton legend Pullela Gopichand, Chess player Koneru Hampi, BCCI interim president Shivlal Yadav, film lyricist S Ashok Teja, media personality Vemuri Radhakrishna and few other prominent personalities. Pawan Kalyan is also reportedly included in this list but his name was not announced due to unknown reasons.
