The Union cabinet has approved the dissolution of Delhi Assembly and will be sending a report to President of India for formal approval. This would lead to dissolution of the house and it will be the Election Commission's call on when to hold elections in the state. According to the sources, elections might happen in the month of January.
Yesterday Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung held an all party meeting and the single largest party, BJP declined to form government. Najeeb recommended to dissolve the assembly. After the Maharashtra and Haryana elections, BJP appears to be confident and hopes to grab the Delhi chair too. Aam Aadmi Party has formed government in Delhi after the 2013 elections but it lasted only for 49 days.
