YS Jagan meets Modi to discuss key issues

YS Jagan meets Modi to discuss key issues:- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his official residence in New Delhi to discuss about key issues of Andhra Pradesh. The issues are related to Polavaram project, rationality under National Food Security Act, Kadapa Steel Plant and arrears from Telangana Discoms. YS Jagan requested Modi to approve the revised cost estimates of Rs 55,548.87 crores for the Polavaram projects per the meeting held on February 11th, 2019. He also reminded about the Rs 31,118 crores that has to be spent on Polavaram project. Rs 8590 crores will be used for the construction and Rs 22,598 crores for the rehabilitation.

YS Jagan said that the coverage of beneficiaries under National Food Security Act (NFSA) is quite low. The state government is providing a ration to 1.45 crore families and 0.89 crore families have been receiving the ration from the Centre. He also wanted the Prime Minister to renew the approvals for Greenfield International Airport at Bhogapuram. YS Jagan requested for an update on MECON's involvement in setting up an Integrated Steel plant in YSR district. He also asked Modi to approve beach sand minerals to Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation in 16 locations. Jagan said that the government of Andhra Pradesh spent Rs 32,625.25 crores of pending bills during the bifurcation and he urged Modi to fill the revenue deficit.

YS Jagan also met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to discuss about the issues related to Andhra Pradesh.
